The man behind the brand
My name is Carson Stilson and I'm the founder of Wairworthy.
I'm a content creator, an entrepreneur, a husband and a father.
I started Wairworthy in 2021 and never expected it to explode like it has. Many of you will know me from social media. I documented my experience building a Zenith CH 750 Super Duty for the entire world to see. And they sure did.
That build series received over 150 million views and become the most-viewed kitplane build series ever. I continue to make content and fly my airplane but some of you don't know that this all started because I wanted to make an aviation wearables brand. In fact, Wairworthy is quite literally a play on the words "Aviation Gear Worth Wearing."
Learning to fly
Growing up, the most impactful Christmas present I ever received was a flight simulator yoke. I put hundreds of hours into those games during my childhood.
My dad earned his pilot certificate and bought a Cessna 172 around the time I was in high school. This was the airplane I flew my first 10 hours of training in. Fast forward to 2020 and I decided it was time finish my PPL.
During my training and afterward, I was searching for an aviation brand that appealed to me. One that had high quality equipment, great looks and features to boot. Unfortunately nothing like that existed. Most products seemed poorly built, unappealing or prohibitively expensive. Like many pilots, I opted to use a bag designed for a purpose other than flying.
I knew something had to change.
Building Wairworthy
My main skillset is in creative direction, marketing and product development. I've spent the last 10 years generating millions of dollars for the companies I work with by creating products, world class marketing content and brand identities.
I believe this set of skills and my passion for general aviation makes me uniquely qualified to redefine the market for aviation wearables and equipment.
Pilots have an incredibly small selection of accessories to choose from. My goal is to create gear that not only functions, but make pilots look as good as they feel when they go flying.
